R.Iconic – Stage 1

Plus Architecture
Australia

R.Iconic Stage 1 is an exemplary landmark mixed-use development occupying a prominent South Melbourne site within the Fishermans Bend precinct. Plus Architecture in collaboration with developer R.Corporation and builder Hickory, have set a new benchmark for high-density living that considers how residents will live, work, and play.

R.Iconic stands 31 stories tall and presents an intriguing sculptural form. The tower features five townhouses, 435 apartments, 15 sub-penthouses, a penthouse, an unparalleled amenity offering and connection to nature.

Rooftop amenities on the Level five podium total approximately 3000-square-metres, exceeding the council-required minimum standard by approximately 91 per cent for a development of this scale. These include an acre private park designed by Paul Bangay, with an 18 metre heated pool, 300 metre infinite loop running track and two alfresco dining pavilions. Residents also have access to food pavilions and a private cinema.

The 31-storey tower is an integral piece within a larger future masterplan. The design process involved engaging with placemakers and street activation experts, to create a vibrant streetscape. The addition of a ground-floor supermarket and retail, provides a central hub to the rapidly emerging Normanby Road precinct.
